Tadalafil Cialis is a PDE5 inhibitor marketed in pill form for treating erectile dysfunction (ED) under the
nameCialis, and under the name Adcirca for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension. In October
2011 the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Cialis for treating the signs and symptoms of
benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) as well as a combination of BPH and erectile dysfunction (ED) when
the conditions coincide. It initially was developed by the biotechnology company ICOS, and then again
developed and marketed world-wide by Lilly ICOS, LLC, the joint venture of ICOS Corporation and Eli Lilly
and Company. Cialis tablets, in 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg doses, are yellow, film-coated, and
almond-shaped. The approved dose for pulmonary arterial hypertension is 40 mg (two 20-mg tablets)
once daily.

1. Tadalifil citrate is the chemical name of active ingredient in Cialis.
2. Cialis is used to treat erectile dysfunction (impotence) in men. Cialis is also used to treat the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a condition in which the prostate gland becomes enlarged.
3. Adcirca, another brand of tadalafil, is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension and improve exercise capacity in men and women.
4. Cialis (Tadalifil citrate), a phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor, is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and decreased libido in males. Cialis works by aiding relaxation of blood vessels and increasing blood flow in the penis during sexual arousal, resulting in improved erectile function. Cialis is much longer lasting than Viagra. Effects can be felt anywhere between 36-48 hours.
How should I take tadalafil?
Tadalafil is usually taken only once per day. Follow all directions on your prescription label. Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
Tadalafil can be taken with or without food.
Do not break or split a Cialis tablet. Swallow it whole.
For erectile dysfunction, take Cialis just before sexual activity but not more than once per day.
Cialis can help achieve an erection when sexual stimulation occurs. An erection will not occur just by taking a pill. Follow your doctor's instructions.
During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of tadalafil.
Do not take Cialis for erectile dysfunction if you are taking Adcirca for pulmonary arterial hypertension.
